Will of Polly Huff McMullan

This is the will of Polly McMullan Huff, daughter of John, Jr. I think her mother was also Jane Dula (Thanks to Beverly Adams and Gale Fuller).

Polley Huff

I Polley Huff of the county of Baldwin and Sate of Georgia being weak & sick in body but of sound mind and memory, blessed be God for the same. Calling to mind the mortality of my body, and knowing that I have to die, do make and ordain this my last will & testament in form and manner following, vis I will that all my lawful debts be paid out of what money is coming to me out of my Father's estate John McMullen dec'd now in the hand of his Executor -

2. I give and bequeath to my son William Huff my riding horse bride & martingill - one feather bed and furniture to be delivered to his father James Huff after my death & debts paid, for him to keep for my son William Huff.

3. I give and bequeath to my daughter Tabitha Catherine Huff one negro girl named Martha, one feather bed and furniture, one curtain bedstead, my pine chest & walnut dressing table, and all the balance of money coming to me from my Father's estate after paying my lawful debts. I appoint my friend Stephen Clements Executor of this my last will & testament whom I like wise nominate and appoint the guardian of my daughter Tabitha C. Huff till she comes of age or marries, and if at any time wishes not to act as guardian, it is my wish for him to get the Court to appoint one for her. I acknowledge this to be my last will & testament, this 7th day of July 1831.

It is acknowledged I have no rite to the property my wife Polley Huff, by her Father John McMullan and if and I do relenquish the same to her, to dispose of as she has done in the within will as witness my hand this the eleventh day of July 1831.

The within last will and testament of Polley Huff was produced in open court by Stephen Clements the nominated Executor and proven by the oath of Lemuel Crittenden and Danl McMullen, the subscribing witnesses and admitted to record accordingly.
